Hey, What’s your deal anyway?

We started out in 2005 in a cute little space which we quickly outgrew. 3 years later we moved just around the corner to a 2 level, 2500 sq ft building where we had room to grow. Our main floor salon space is home to 9 awesomely talented hairstylists, most of whom work as independent artists - What does that mean? That means that our stylists have tons of experience behind the chair and have been in the industry for at least 10 years each! As independent artists, stylists work for themselves, each running their own business within L. Hair Studio. It's a team of independent like minded artists who work together to share the space and give our clients the most personal care that we can. Our upper level is home to LovalloArt Photography Studio - a fully functional professional studio, this is where we shoot most of our editorials, as well as other portrait, creative and boudoir photography. We also rent the studio out on an hourly basis to other professionals in need of space to shoot!

Lisa Lovallo

Hairstylist, Salon Owner, Photographer

Hi!  My name is Lisa, and I am the owner of L. Hair Studio and LovalloArt Photography.  When I first started hairstyling, I was 19 years old and thought it would be something I would do until I discovered what I really wanted to do with my life.  Little did I know that taking that step would lead me on such an adventure!  It didn't take long to realize that this wasn't just a job - this was really what I was meant for!  I spent my 20's building my clientele, learning as much as I could in the hair industry and travelling.  I studied oil painting and photographty during this time and produced a number of portraits, participated in art shows, and even had my work showing in a local gallery for a time.  In 2005 I ventured out on my own and opened up L. Hair Studio - a dream of mine I had been working towards since I started this journey.  The next few years were work work work and steadily building my business.  After relocating some years later, with the extra space and a rekindling for my love of photography, I added the studio to the upper level, and dove head first into boudoir photography.  During this time I connected to Edmonton's fashion scene where I became a regular hairstylist at Western Canada Fashion Week, and began shooting creative editorials for magazine publications.  I hope to continue on bringing my passions for hair and art together, along with my team and my awesome clients!
